Intermediate Software Engineer
Job Description
On-site in Clackamas, Oregon, the Intermediate Software Engineer will join Cornell Pump Company LLC to help shape cloud-based software products by building APIs, database infrastructure, and user interfaces that connect ERP systems, IoT telemetry, and manufacturing and sales data. This hands-on role combines development across multiple projects with a focus on maintainability and quality, bringing together backend and frontend work in a collaborative environment.
Responsibilities
- Develop features and fix bugs across various software projects and products.
- Adhere to development standards and style guidelines as documented or conveyed by the Software Manager and Senior Engineers.
- Identify and report bugs in existing solutions and deployed code.
- Identify gaps in product feature implementation and propose improvements to software processes.
- Track work and keep feature tickets up-to-date within the team’s Jira workflow.
- Review feature pull requests with a focus on code efficacy, maintainability, and core functionality.
- Assist with feature design and documentation under the supervision of the Software Manager or Senior Software Engineer(s).
- Some development work will involve Ruby on Rails; learning Rails on the job and maintaining an existing Rails code base will be required.
- Occasionally assist with major production issues outside of normal working hours, when needed.
Requirements
- SQL experience, with MySQL preferred.
- JavaScript and TypeScript proficiency.
- React.js experience.
- Python programming skills.
- Ruby on Rails development on the job; learning Rails on the job and maintaining an existing Rails code base will be a requirement.
