Full Stack Java Developer

Agensys Corporation is hiring a Full Stack Java / AI Software Developer to expand cloud-based flight planning and automation software for FAA flight service modernization.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, and maintain production full-stack Java applications for FAA flight planning and automation
• Build backend services using Java, Spring Framework, and Spring Boot
• Create frontend components with React, JavaScript, HTML, and CSS
• Design, implement, and integrate RESTful APIs and supporting application services
• Use Claude and AI coding agents to accelerate development, debugging, testing, and implementation
• Convert technical requirements into structured development plans and detailed instructions for AI coding tools
• Direct AI agents to generate application functionality and support engineering tasks
• Review, troubleshoot, test, and refine code generated by AI tools
• Develop and execute unit and functional tests using JUnit and Mockito
• Apply secure coding practices and maintain high standards for application performance and reliability
• Use GitLab for source control, code reviews, collaboration, and development workflows
• Participate in Agile/Scrum ceremonies, including sprint planning, daily stand-ups, backlog refinement, and technical design discussions
• Collaborate with product owners, software engineers, systems engineers, and DevSecOps teams
• Develop and support cloud-based and containerized applications
• Troubleshoot defects and resolve technical issues during development and testing
• Support integration with existing FAA flight service systems
• Help transition new capabilities into ongoing operations and maintenance

Requirements

• 4+ years of professional experience in full-stack Java development
• Strong experience with Java, Spring Framework, and Spring Boot
• Experience developing frontend applications using React and JavaScript
• Experience designing and implementing RESTful APIs
• Hands-on experience with Claude Code or comparable AI-assisted development tools
• Experience using AI coding agents to generate, review, test, and troubleshoot application code
• Ability to independently evaluate AI-generated software for quality, correctness, security, and maintainability
• Experience with GitLab or other Git-based version control systems
• Experience with unit testing frameworks including JUnit and Mockito
• Experience working in Linux-based development environments
• Experience developing or supporting cloud-based applications
• Experience working in Agile/Scrum teams
• Strong understanding of application architecture, debugging, testing, and software engineering best practices
• Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams
• Ability to complete required background investigation and drug screening
• U.S. Citizenship or permanent resident status, subject to final program eligibility confirmation

• Previous experience supporting FAA, aviation, air traffic management, or flight planning software
• Experience developing aviation applications or products such as ForeFlight or Garmin
• Familiarity with aviation data, flight planning workflows, or safety-critical systems

Location and Compensation

• Location: Remote (remote)
• Salary: USD 50 - 75 per hour
