Job Description

Marathon TS supports mission-focused engineering that helps address national security threats. This Full Stack Developer position is based in Washington, DC with a hybrid onsite schedule (70–80% onsite). You will build and support end-to-end capabilities, from backend services and databases to front-end user experiences, within a DevOps and hybrid Agile environment. This role requires an active TS/SCI clearance.

Responsibilities

  • Apply software development techniques and methodologies to solve challenging analytical problems in support of national security threats
  • Use engineering skills to automate manual analytical processes
  • Deploy developed IT solutions, user applications, databases, and related IT capabilities
  • Design and develop specialized user solutions, applications, and databases using a hybrid Agile approach within a DevOps environment
  • Provide Tier 3 technical support for deployed applications and databases
  • Maintain code integrity and consistent code organization
  • Collaborate with the engineering team to design and launch new features, including coordination and documentation of deployment procedures and release plans
  • Support off-hours deployments such as evenings or weekends

Requirements

  • Understanding of cloud architectures and enabling tools, including AWS Cloud (GovCloud/C2S)
  • Familiarity with AWS and Amazon Web Managed Services
  • Experience with JavaScript, Angular, TypeScript, Node.js, MongoDB, JSON, SQL, and XML
  • High experience level with back-end programming languages such as Java (Spring) and Python
  • Working knowledge of datastores including MongoDB, DynamoDB, PostgreSQL, S3, Redshift, Redis, and Elasticsearch
  • Familiarity with technologies such as jQuery, ASP/.Net, NoSQL, PL/SQL, LDAP, HTTP, REST/SOAP, and RDBMS
  • Familiarity with configuration management and CI tools such as Git/GitLab, Jenkins, SonarQube, Maven, Ansible, and Chef
  • Familiar with Linux/Unix server environments
  • Experience with Agile development methodology
  • Working knowledge with collaboration tools such as Jira and Confluence

Preferred qualifications

  • Working knowledge with platforms and services such as Docker, Kubernetes, JMS/SQS/SNS, Kafka, AWS Lambda, and NiFi
  • Working knowledge with public keys and digital certificates
  • Experience with automated testing patterns and tools such as Mocha/Chai, JUnit, NUnit, and TestNG
  • Experience with DevOps environments
  • Expertise in various COTS, GOTS, and open-source tools that support development of data integration and visualization applications
  • Experience with cloud message APIs and usage of push notifications
  • Specialization in Object Oriented Programming, scripting, and databases
  • Familiarity with Python, Groovy, and Shell Script
