Job Description

EY’s Digital Asset Research Center brings together software developers, financial auditors, and technology consultants to build the technical understanding, methodology, and tools needed to support Assurance services for organizations that hold and transact digital assets. In this senior role, you will help develop and document blockchain and digital asset solutions while partnering with financial auditors to evaluate digital asset-related financial statement assertions.

This hybrid opportunity is based in San Francisco, CA, with additional location coverage across the US region. The role supports a full-stack development approach and includes research, technical writing, and client collaboration in an environment designed to be both innovative and inclusive.

What you’ll do

  • Deliver full-stack software development across front-end and back-end components.
  • Create technical documentation and memos covering complex digital asset topics.
  • Collaborate with financial auditors to design and implement techniques for testing financial statement assertions related to digital assets.
  • Solve novel technical problems with innovative solutions that support client implementations and EY core product offerings.
  • Stay current on emerging leading practices in this fast-growing area and identify how new practices can be applied.
  • Work effectively with client engagement teams with diverse skills and backgrounds, supporting an innovative and inclusive work environment.

What you bring

  • 3 to 5 years of related prior work experience in application development.
  • A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Systems Management, or a related field.
  • Strong understanding of blockchain technology, smart contracts, and decentralized applications (dApps).
  • Demonstrable experience with JavaScript/TypeScript development such as Node.js, Express, React, and Angular.
  • Demonstrable experience with Ethereum, including Solidity, or other protocols such as Hyperledger and Solana.
  • Demonstrable experience with testing frameworks such as Jest and Mocha.
  • Demonstrable experience with database technologies across both NoSQL and SQL architectures.
  • Demonstrable experience using Git or other version control/source code management software.
  • Demonstrable experience with container technologies such as Docker or Podman.
  • Demonstrable experience with DevOps and cloud service providers including Azure, AWS, or GCP.
  • Previous development experience in Agile teams.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills for technical writing and client presentations.
  • The ability and willingness to travel and work in excess of standard hours when necessary.
  • Access to reliable transportation to/from EY office and client sites; a driver’s license is strongly recommended as ride share and public transportation may not be available in all locations.

Compensation and benefits

  • Salary range (per year): USD 102,500 to 213,400
