Front-End User Experience Developer

Webb Design builds high-performance, accessible, AI-forward web experiences for a global data infrastructure leader. In this hybrid role in Morrisville, NC (27560), you will develop Next.js and React experiences deployed on Vercel, and help shape content-driven platforms powered by Contentstack. You will also partner with strategists and designers to optimize for GEO/SEO and design a dual-audience experience that supports both human users and LLM/AI consumption.

Responsibilities

• Build, maintain, and evolve front-end frameworks, components, and templates within a Next.js / React architecture deployed on Vercel
• Develop and manage content-driven experiences using Contentstack, including schema design, content modeling, and API integrations
• Apply AI-forward development using AI-assisted coding tools (such as Abacus.ai, GitHub Copilot, Cursor, Claude, ChatGPT, or similar), along with prompt engineering and automation to accelerate delivery, improve code quality, and solve problems in new ways
• Design and optimize for Generative Engine Optimization (GEO), including page architecture, structured data, and content formats that improve visibility and citation rates across AI platforms (ChatGPT, Gemini, Perplexity, Claude, and others)
• Create accessible, performant, and responsive web experiences for both human users and LLM/AI consumption
• Collaborate with the Digital Experience & Design team, SEO/GEO strategists, and content stakeholders to translate designs and business objectives into production-ready code
• Participate in peer reviews, contribute to continuous learning and knowledge sharing, and support engineering excellence
• Help enforce front-end guidelines, design system standards, and code quality practices
• Support Web Performance Optimization (WPO), Core Web Vitals, accessibility (WCAG 2.2 / ADA), and security best practices
• Work with analytics leads on analytics implementation strategy, tag management, and tracking
• Advise on technical approaches, trade-offs, and delivery timelines; communicate complex topics to non-technical audiences
• Contribute in Agile ceremonies (sprint planning, standups, retrospectives) and proactively identify opportunities to innovate and automate delivery

• Proficiency with Vercel (hosting, CI/CD, serverless functions, edge middleware, and deployment workflows)
• AI-forward development as a core competency, demonstrated through active daily use of AI-assisted coding tools
• Experience building or integrating LLM-powered features (chatbots, agentic experiences, content generation, intelligent search) and evaluating, prototyping, and shipping AI-enhanced web experiences
• Strong understanding of how front-end architecture, structured data (Schema.org, JSON-LD), semantic HTML, content structure, and metadata impact discoverability
• Knowledge of optimization techniques for both traditional search and AI/LLM platforms (ChatGPT, Gemini, Perplexity, Claude, and others)
• Understanding of Responsive Web Design, cross-browser compatibility, accessibility (WCAG 2.2, ADA), and web standards
• In-depth Web Performance Optimization knowledge: Core Web Vitals, Lighthouse, image optimization, lazy loading, caching strategies
• Experience with Git-based workflows, CI/CD pipelines, and modern DevOps practices
• Working knowledge of RESTful APIs, GraphQL, JSON, and third-party integrations
• Familiarity with analytics implementation (Adobe Analytics, Google Analytics), tag management (Adobe Launch, Google Tag Manager), and A/B testing and personalization platforms
• Knowledge of web security fundamentals: CSP, CORS, HTTPS, input validation, and emerging threats such as LLM prompt injection
• Experience with design systems and component libraries, and collaboration with UX/UI designers
• Experience with Akmai (CDN, image optimization, DDoS protection) or equivalent edge/CDN platforms
• Experience with project management and collaboration tools (Asana, Jira, Confluence, or equivalents)

Additional Qualifications

• Experience with Contentstack specifically, including extensions, webhooks, and marketplace apps
• Familiarity with personalization engines (Lytics, Contentstack Personalize, or similar)
• Exposure to YouTube API integration
• Understanding of GDPR compliance, consent management (Transcend or similar), and data privacy in a web context
• Experience with search platforms (Coveo or similar)
• Background in internationalization (i18n) and localization (l10n) workflows

Compensation

$100,000.00 - $110,000.00 per year

Experience & Education

• Minimum 6 years of professional front-end development experience
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Web Development, or a related technical discipline; or equivalent practical experience
• Enterprise web environment experience is strongly preferred
