Responsibilities
- Develops innovative software solutions and drives design, implementation, and troubleshooting with an ability to go beyond routine approaches.
- Writes secure, production-grade code and reviews peers' work to identify and fix issues.
- Monitors performance metrics and analyzes scalability across diverse hardware, software, and configurations.
- Acts as a performance advisor, ensuring performance considerations are embedded in development and infrastructure scaling.
- Influences senior leaders across business, product, and technology teams.
- Anticipates and mitigates issues that could impact performance.
- Plans and develops methodologies for standard performance benchmarks and comparisons.
- Designs, builds, and deploys tools to automate performance measurement and analysis.
- Leads adoption of enterprise AI assisted engineering practices to improve code quality, delivery speed, and operational outcomes, while establishing validation standards and promoting reuse of effective patterns.
- Leverages SDLC tools and enterprise AI capabilities to maximize automation value.
Requirements
- Formal training or certification in software engineering plus 5+ years of applied experience.
- Proven track record leading the use of approved AI assisted development tools for coding, code review, test acceleration, and troubleshooting, with the ability to set team expectations for validating AI outputs for correctness, performance, and security.
- Strong understanding of responsible AI use in engineering workflows, including data sensitivity, secure handling of inputs/outputs, and alignment with resiliency and security expectations; experience coaching engineers on safe, compliant adoption.
- Hands-on experience delivering system design, application development, testing, and operational stability.
- Advanced development experience in Java, Spring Boot, and Microservices.
- Experience with AWS services such as ECS/EKS, Lambda, S3, EC2, Kafka, and NLB.
- Experience with databases.
- Proficiency across the full Software Development Life Cycle with a solid grasp of agile practices including CI/CD, application resiliency, and security.
- Experience working with AI agents or copilots in engineering workflows.
- Depth of knowledge in the financial services sector and its IT systems.
Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills
- Strong enterprise architecture concepts enabling a unified user experience through data sharing with APIs and Kafka.
- Experience with case management workflows and orchestration to support a cohesive user experience across cross-functional teams.
- Familiarity with coding assistant tools such as GitHub Copilot to drive efficiency gains.
