Forward-Deployed Software Engineer

This is a full-time, hybrid Forward-Deployed Software Engineer position based in San Francisco, CA. The role embeds with enterprise clients to extract data, build pipelines, and deliver end-to-end solutions with production-grade code. Compensation ranges from USD 150,000 to 200,000 per year, with equity available; visa sponsorship is not provided.

Responsibilities

• Deploy on-site or closely partner with client engineering teams to extract data from enterprise systems including ERPs, data warehouses, and SaaS tools
• Write production-grade code in Python, SQL, and other languages as needed
• Design and deploy data pipelines, APIs, and internal tooling to support analytics and modeling workflows
• Collaborate with customer stakeholders (technical and non-technical) to deeply understand their systems, workflows, and pain points
• Work with internal data scientists, strategists, and platform engineers to deliver end-to-end solutions
• Surface client insights that inform the product roadmap and internal tooling priorities
• Embed with client teams to understand their systems, extract and transform complex datasets, and build scalable solutions

Requirements

• 3–5 years in a data-heavy, customer-facing software engineering role (e.g., Sales Engineer, Solutions Engineer, Forward-Deployed Engineer, customer-facing SWE)
• Experience in at least one customer-facing technical role (e.g., Forward-Deployed Engineer, Solutions Architect)
• Experience building and deploying data ingestion/integration pipelines using Python and SQL
• Deep experience with cloud infrastructure (AWS) and enterprise systems (ERPs, data warehouses)
• Able to work hybrid from the San Francisco office (2–4 days per week)
• Willing to travel occasionally to client sites

The Role

As a Forward-Deployed Software Engineer, you will work directly with enterprise clients to tackle high-impact data and engineering challenges. You will embed with client teams to understand their systems, extract and transform complex datasets, and build scalable solutions. This is a technically focused role: you will write production-grade code, construct data pipelines, and integrate with real-world, sometimes messy, systems.
