Job Description
This FLEX Associate Software Engineer – CDP role focuses on implementing, maintaining, and optimizing Marriott International's Real-Time Customer Data Platform and its real-time integrations with digital products in a hybrid Bethesda, MD setting.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with the Digital Data Collection and Real-Time Personalization team to build and sustain web event instrumentation that supports real-time use cases such as personalization, audience qualification, and measurement
- Provide technical specifications and assist in validating Adobe Launch properties and deployments, covering rules, data elements, extensions, environments, and publishing workflows
- Assist with implementing and validating Adobe Experience Platform Web SDK event payloads aligned to enterprise standards
- Support instrumentation patterns that enable low latency decisioning and personalization, including timely capture of user actions and context
- Ensure events are dispatched early enough to support same and next-page experiences and reduce race conditions
- Partner with product teams to integrate data collection into feature releases, ensuring personalization needs are met without compromising performance
- Conduct QA in lower environments and perform production validation using browser tools and platform debugging utilities
- Create and maintain lightweight automated checks or test scripts where appropriate, such as validating network calls, payload structures, and expected events
- Develop expertise in the Adobe ecosystem and internal standards through pairing, training, and hands-on delivery
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, Web Development, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience
- 0–3 years of relevant experience in software or data engineering, or related technical area (including internships or academic projects)
- Foundational knowledge of REST APIs, JSON payloads, and programming languages such as Python, Java, or JavaScript
- Understanding of data structures, event-driven architectures, and real-time integration concepts
