Electrical & Software Engineer – Ground Support Equipment

Responsibilities

• Lead the end-to-end design and development of electronic, control, and software systems for ground support equipment, guiding projects from concept through implementation and ongoing support in alignment with ISO 9001 processes.
• Develop PLC and HMI based control systems to enable automated equipment functionality.
• Convert customer requirements into technical specifications, system architecture, and executable designs that align with project timelines.
• Collaborate with engineering, manufacturing, quality, product management, and supply chain teams to deliver integrated solutions.
• Troubleshoot electrical, control, and software issues; perform root cause analysis and document corrective actions.
• Support new product development and product enhancements, including automation improvements.
• Participate in technical design reviews to ensure safety, compliance, performance, and quality standards.
• Provide technical guidance to internal teams, suppliers, and customers.
• Drive continuous improvement in controls and software design processes and in configuration management practices.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, Automation, Software Engineering, or a related field.
• 5+ years of experience in electrical engineering, controls, or industrial automation.
• Experience designing PLC- and HMI-based control systems (Allen-Bradley, Siemens, or similar).
• Proficiency in Ladder Logic and/or C, C++, or similar programming languages.
• Experience with electrical design tools (e.g., SolidWorks Electrical or equivalent).
• Strong ability to troubleshoot integrated electronic and software systems.
• Experience working in cross-functional engineering environments.
• Strong communication skills, including customer-facing interaction.
• U.S. Citizenship required.
• Ability to work on-site in Mason, Ohio.
