Data Engineer III
Job Description
This role focuses on delivering complex data solutions that support technology and business objectives through regulatory deliverables and data platform migration.
Responsibilities
- Refine stories and drive requirements delivery across the delivery lifecycle; support teammates in resolving technical complexities
- Develop complex data integration work: clean, transform, and control data; build processes for transformation, data structures, metadata, data quality controls, dependency, and workload management
- Assemble complex data sets and communicate deployment-ready information
- Lead documentation of system requirements and collaborate with development teams to confirm data requirements and feasibility; leverage architectural components to develop client requirements
- Lead testing activities by creating test plans and contributing to integration, regression, and performance test suites
- Analyze test reports, identify test issues and errors, and lead triage to determine underlying causes
- Coordinate with technology partners and stakeholders to close gaps in data management standards adherence; propose and communicate solutions for complex problems
- Lead complex IT project work to support on-time delivery, release process adherence, and risk management
- Define and build data pipelines to enable data-informed decision making
- Mentor Data Engineers and support continuous development; monitor key performance indicators and internal controls
- Manage Authoritative Data Sourcing (ADS)
- Support regulatory reporting data lineage
- Create automation and scripts for functionality, reconciliation
- Create automation and scripts to facilitate data migration, reconciliation, and integrity validation
- Work with database architects, database developers, application teams, and security teams to resolve issues
- Execute database migration projects
- Support cutover execution and post-migration stabilization
Requirements
- 7-10 years of applicable experience
- Strong hands-on experience with RDBMS platforms, including Sybase ASE, IBM DB2 (LUW), or Oracle
- Experience with Data Lineage and ADS sourcing management
- Experience with database migrations
- Experience with ETL tools, especially Informatica
- Preferred: best practices in regulated environments
