Data Engineer

Pathway Partners is hiring an experienced Data Engineer to support a client team deploying applications for a government agency. This role centers on data import, reporting, and Microsoft Power BI development within a hybrid setup based in New York City.

The position is located in New York, NY with a hybrid schedule of 3 days in-office and 2 days remote. The team expects the work to run on 7-hour workdays, and candidates must be located within commuting distance from NYC.

Role responsibilities

• Assist in managing project execution from start through completion
• Create business reports that summarize key metrics following data import from reporting databases
• Import key data points across multiple reporting sources, including reporting databases and the Enterprise data warehouse
• Create ad-hoc reports based on data metrics
• Produce business reports for other departments, including tracking using relevant metrics
• Serve as a Microsoft Power BI SME by advising on business report creation, workspace management, and related support within the new Microsoft Power BI framework as needed
• Create new Power BI business reports, datasets, and dashboards, including paginated reports when required

Required experience

• 4+ years of experience with Oracle and MS SQL Server 2028, including SQL and PL/SQL
• 4+ years of experience with Microsoft Power BI, MS Excel, and VB Script

Compensation and work setup

• Salary range: USD 110,000 - 124,000 per year
• Location: New York, NY (hybrid)
• Schedule: 3 days in-office and 2 days remote
• Workdays: typically 7-hour workdays
