Data Engineer

Colgate-Palmolive offers a hybrid Data Engineer role based in Piscataway, NJ, building production-ready pipelines that help move data from source to consumption with reliability and clarity. Salary for this position ranges from $76,800 to $121,000 USD, with pay determined by experience, qualifications, and location.

What you’ll do

• Design, build, and maintain production data pipelines from ingestion to consumption using Snowflake, dbt, Python, and SQL aligned to Medallion Architecture standards
• Assemble large-scale, complex datasets that meet enterprise standards while optimizing infrastructure for performance and cost
• Improve pipelines continuously by automating manual workflows, tuning query execution, and evaluating emerging data technology
• Partner with business and IT stakeholders to translate functional requirements into scalable data delivery solutions and address technical blockers
• Maintain code quality and enterprise compliance through peer GitHub code reviews, technical documentation, and pipeline design standards

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or related field
• 2+ years of professional experience as a Data Engineer or related role
• Proven experience in Python and SQL, plus cloud infrastructure experience with AWS or GCP
• Hands-on experience building scalable data pipelines, managing databases, and using Git, Docker/Kubernetes, Terraform, Airflow, and Snowflake/dbt

Preferred qualifications

• Prior Data Engineering experience working closely with other programmers such as Software Engineers and Data Scientists
• Experience with network, server, and application-status monitoring
• Familiarity with software-automation production systems such as GitHub Actions and Selenium
• Familiarity with code deployment tools
• Familiarity with preparing datasets for AI/ML models, including vector embeddings or feature engineering
