Job Description

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement Summit Credit Union's enterprise data strategy to align with business and technology objectives.
  • Design, build, and maintain data architectures, databases, data models, and integration solutions that support scalable and reliable data management.
  • Collaborate with business leaders, developers, engineers, and IT teams to understand data needs and deliver solutions that drive business value.
  • Establish and maintain data governance practices to ensure data quality, consistency, security, and regulatory compliance.
  • Analyze complex datasets to identify trends, answer business questions, and support informed decision-making.
  • Leverage historical data and analytics to develop insights and predictive models that support future outcomes.
  • Recommend and implement data tools, technologies, and best practices to enhance data capabilities and operational efficiency.
  • Develop and monitor KPIs and metrics related to data consumption, integration, and utilization.
  • Ensure data is protected against unauthorized access while remaining accessible to authorized users.
  • Exercise independent judgment when evaluating technologies, data solutions, and business opportunities.
  • Communicate technical concepts and insights effectively to both technical and non-technical audiences, including senior leadership.

Requirements

  • A bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Data Analytics, Business Analytics, or a related field.
  • Eight years of experience in data management roles or an equivalent blend of education and relevant professional experience.
  • Working knowledge of cloud architecture and modern data management practices.
  • Strong technical skills in data analytics, database design, and data modeling.
  • Knowledge of data governance, data integration, and enterprise data management practices.
  • Experience with business intelligence and analytics tools.
  • Ability to analyze and interpret complex datasets and translate findings into actionable business insights.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to identify innovative solutions using new technologies and methodologies.
  • Strong project management skills with the ability to prioritize work and meet deadlines.
  • Ability to exercise independent judgment when recommending technologies and business solutions.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to engage both technical and non-technical stakeholders at all organizational levels.

Physical Demands

While performing the duties of this position, the employee may sit, stand, walk, and use hands and fingers. Occasional reaching above and below shoulder level and the ability to lift, push, pull, or carry up to 10 pounds may be required.

Environmental/Working Conditions

Work is performed in a typical administrative setting with climate control and appropriate lighting. Travel to branch locations may require exposure to outdoor and traffic conditions.
