Data Design Developer

CAI is hiring a Data Design Developer to help shape data architecture and schemas for a client notification platform built on Microsoft Azure and Power Platform. In this full-time contract role, you will support enterprise data integrations, refine production data architectures, and collaborate with cross-functional teams under an Agile methodology in a hybrid setup with two days onsite in Hyattsville, MD.

What you’ll do

• Design and implement data architecture and schemas that support the notification platform
• Assist with enterprise data integrations across Microsoft Azure and Power Platform environments
• Build proficiency in the client’s data platforms and become familiar with application data structures and schemas
• Review business requirements and recommend enhancements to existing solutions, including the design of new data structures and schemas
• Implement enterprise data architectures for production applications, adapting architectures as needed
• Support enhancement, optimization, and enterprise integration for public-facing notification platforms
• Participate in application development to support new business processes and operational improvements
• Refine and automate business processes, including enterprise system integrations
• Contribute to UX/UI improvements and accessibility enhancements
• Support quality assurance, performance optimization, and scalable solution development
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams using Agile methodology

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field and/or an equivalent combination of education, certification, and experience
• 8 years of experience in a related field
• 5 to 7 years of hands-on experience
• Experience designing with relational SQL and NoSQL databases
• Experience with document modeling and denormalized data structures
• Experience with Azure SQL Database and SQL Managed Instance
• Experience with Azure Blob Storage
• Experience with Azure Cosmos DB for MongoDB
• Experience supporting BI reporting data layers
• Experience designing, deploying, enhancing, and supporting highly available mission-critical applications
• Knowledge of enterprise governance frameworks, security practices, and delivery methodologies

• Experience with .NET Core or Node.js on Azure
• Experience with data pipelines, ingestion, transformation, and data quality and governance
• Experience designing data structures for operational dashboards, analytics, archive and search functionality, and audit logging
• Master’s degree in Computer Science or a related field
• PeopleSoft certification

Compensation and work model

This is a full-time contract role with hybrid work in Hyattsville, MD (2 days onsite). Pay is USD 60 to 65 per hour. The position requires no sponsorship now or in the future.
