Job Description
Senior Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning Engineer with Booz Allen Hamilton, based onsite in Fort Meade, MD, focusing on designing AI enabled capabilities to support national security missions. The role centers on capturing mission workflows, developing LLM powered or agent based solutions, and delivering secure, production ready implementations.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate directly with mission users to capture workflows, document decision points, and translate them into effective AI enabled capabilities.
- Design and implement solutions that may involve LLM powered workflows, agent based automation, or hybrid approaches tailored to mission needs.
- Streamline analytical tasks, improve data accessibility, and support rapid, informed decision making in high tempo environments.
- Work with operators, analysts, developers, and mission leadership to ensure seamless integration with existing systems, reliable production performance, and adherence to security and governance requirements in classified environments.
Requirements
- Experience capturing user workflows and translating them into structured process maps, automation requirements, or executable logic.
- Experience designing or implementing LLM based or agentic workflows, including multi step reasoning, tool integrations, and orchestration.
- Experience integrating AI systems with APIs, enterprise data stores, or mission platforms.
- Proficiency with programming languages such as Python.
- TS/SCI clearance with a polygraph.
- Bachelor’s degree and 3+ years of experience in AI / ML engineering, data science, or software engineering within cyber, intelligence, or national security environments, or 6+ years of such experience in lieu of a degree.

Clearance
Applicants selected will be subject to a security investigation and may need to meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information. TS/SCI clearance with polygraph is required.
Compensation
The projected annualized compensation range for this position is USD 99,000 to USD 225,000, with final figures determined by location, education, knowledge, skills, competencies, experience, contract-specific affordability, and organizational requirements.

Work Model
- Onsite: Work will primarily be performed at a Booz Allen office or customer facility, with collaboration from colleagues and clients as required by the role.
- Hybrid: Regular in person work from a Booz Allen facility is expected, with possible visits to customer facilities based on leadership needs and role requirements.
- Remote: This role may require occasional in person work at Booz Allen or customer facilities despite a remote designation.
