Job Description
The U.S. Office of Personnel Management is seeking an Applications Software Engineer to design, develop, and sustain enterprise applications that support agency mission requirements. Based onsite in Macon, GA, this role covers the full software lifecycle, inviting involvement with modern methodologies and emerging technologies to advance federal systems.

Responsibilities
- Design, develop, test, implement, and maintain enterprise software that supports critical organizational requirements.
- Lead or support the software development lifecycle using Agile and DevSecOps approaches.
- Develop and maintain software solutions that integrate emerging technologies, including artificial intelligence and automation, to enhance application functionality.
- Evaluate and adopt tools, frameworks, and platforms to modernize environments and boost performance.
- Assess requirements, constraints, and integration needs to create secure, interoperable, and maintainable solutions.
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues across development, integration, performance, security, or operations.
- Communicate technical information, requirements, risks, and recommendations to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Requirements
- Must be a U.S. Citizen or National
- Males born after 12-31-1959 must be registered for Selective Service
- Suitable for Federal employment, determined by a background investigation
- May be required to successfully complete a probationary period
