Job Description
Join Torch Technologies as a Senior Application Software Engineer in Kettering, Ohio, supporting the FLITES/EPASS GB contract. In this role you’ll design, develop, test, and deploy applications while providing Agile leadership, shaping system and applications architecture, and upholding strong security practices. You’ll work onsite and collaborate across teams to deliver reliable software solutions that meet customer needs.

Work location and schedule
Onsite at Kettering, OH (Dayton/WPAFB). Schedule is Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
Responsibilities
- Provide advisory and hands-on support for the full lifecycle of applications software, including design, documentation, development, modification, testing, installation, implementation, and ongoing support.
- Lead or participate in Agile practices such as scrum, Kanban, XP, or hybrid approaches; refine system requirements and translate them into prototype applications.
- Plan and design systems and applications architectures; determine output media and user and system interfaces.
- Collaborate with customers to test applications and ensure software quality and functionality; integrate hardware and software components.
- Write, review, and maintain program documentation; evaluate new software technologies such as containerization, Kubernetes, infrastructure as code, configuration as code, microservices, APIs, CI/CD, and automation of the SDLC.
- Ensure rigorous application of information security and cybersecurity policies, principles, and practices in the delivery of software services.
Requirements
- U.S. citizen
- Educational and experience options:
- Advanced Degree (MA/MS) or Doctorate from an ABET-accredited program in Computer Science, Information Technology or other Engineering Discipline, plus 10 years of experience with 5 years in the DoW, OR
- Bachelor’s degree from an ABET-accredited program in Computer Science, Information Technology or other Engineering Discipline, plus 12 years of experience in the respective field with 5 years in the DoW, OR
- 15 years of directly related experience with proper certifications, 8 years in the DoW
- Demonstrates advanced knowledge and the ability to guide junior and mid-level personnel within the technical/professional discipline; strong understanding of standards, procedures, and practices in their area
- Must maintain and hold a T3/Secret security clearance
