Application Developer - SQL RPG
Job Description
An experienced Application Developer with a focus on RPG and SQL will join Nesco Resource, LLC for an onsite role in East Liberty, Ohio. This position emphasizes system analysis, full SDLC ownership, and data integration within an Agile environment, supporting development, testing, and production deployment in a professional, open-office setting. The role offers an hourly rate of $50-$55 and requires a bachelor’s degree or equivalent IT experience.
Responsibilities
- Perform system analysis and design for new applications and enhancements to existing systems.
- Develop, test, and debug new programs or modify existing ones according to specifications and production requirements.
- Build applications in accordance with detailed design specifications.
- Design and implement data integration and communication between systems.
- Complete programming tasks within defined timelines to meet project objectives.
- Create and execute test plans and scripts for system validation.
- Prepare technical specifications, user manuals, and system documentation.
- Provide production support and troubleshoot system-related issues.
- Support user acceptance testing, training, and end-to-end system integration testing.
- Assist in deploying systems into the production environment.
- Troubleshoot AS/400 system performance by analyzing job logs, spool files, and system metrics.
- Participate in the full Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC), including analysis, development, testing, deployment, and support.
- Collaborate with teams using Agile methodologies such as Scrum and Kanban.
- Adhere to safety and environmental policies and regulations while performing duties.
- Perform additional responsibilities as assigned.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or equivalent IT experience
- 5+ years of IT experience
- RPG, RPGLE, Free-format RPGLE
- CL, CLLE, CLP
- SQL, SQLRPGLE, Stored Procedures
- Experience with IBM MQ, FTP, iSeries Navigator, Integrated File System (IFS)
- Experience with IBMi IWS (Integrated Web Services)
- Experience with JSON, RESTful APIs, and SOAP web services, including development and integration
- Experience in change management tools (Aldon Change Management ACMS, Implementer, Turnover, etc.)
- Experience in impact analysis tools (Hawkeye, Abstract, etc.)
