Application Developer (Data/Integrations)

Vaco by Highspring is looking for an Application Developer focused on data and integrations to design and build APIs, data workflows, and AI-enabled modernization for a multi-location retail organization. This hybrid role is based in Bradenton, FL, and involves collaborating with product owners and business partners to turn user stories into scalable technical solutions while driving improvements across the development lifecycle.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain application and system integrations, including APIs, services, and event-driven processes
• Ensure data flows between merchandising systems, store applications, cloud services, and enterprise platforms operate smoothly
• Collaborate with product owners and stakeholders to analyze user stories and translate them into technical designs
• Incorporate secure coding practices, optimize performance, and apply clean architecture principles
• Contribute across the full software development lifecycle, including development, testing, deployment, and ongoing support
• Mentor other developers, including local and offshore team members
• Contribute to AI-powered transformation initiatives to boost productivity and code quality
• Troubleshoot and diagnose integration or application issues to ensure reliability and stability
• Maintain monitoring dashboards and provide on-call support as needed
• Pursue continuous improvements in code quality, architecture, and development processes
• Perform additional duties as assigned

Requirements

• 7–10 years of experience in data integration or backend services development
• Experience building REST APIs, microservices, and event-based integrations
• Proficiency in one or more modern languages such as C#, .NET, Java, or Python
• Hands-on experience with cloud integration technologies, preferably Azure including Functions, Logic Apps, Service Bus, Storage, and API Management
• Strong experience with SSIS, including troubleshooting, performance tuning, deployment, and configuration management
• Solid understanding of SQL and relational databases such as SQL Server and Oracle
• Experience using AI tools such as GitHub Copilot to improve development quality and efficiency
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to diagnose issues across applications, integrations, and data flows

Location

Hybrid role based in Bradenton, Florida. Relocation assistance may be considered. Remote is not available.
