Android Developer

Adidev Technologies Inc is building and supporting large-scale applications for prominent clients, and the Android Developer role sits at the center of that delivery. This onsite position focuses on designing, developing, and maintaining mobile features for real-world products, with client assignments that may require relocation for extended project timelines.

Based in Westlake, TX (onsite), the role is full-time and can be offered as W2 or Contract 1099, with a 40 hours per week schedule. Assignments typically run 6 to 18 months, and relocation is mandatory for client coverage.

Role Overview

• Design, develop, and enhance applications for the Android platform (iOS or Android experience is used depending on project needs).
• Contribute to the definition, design, and implementation of new features alongside a team.
• Maintain and improve existing apps by suggesting improvements and addressing issues that impact performance.
• Ensure strong application performance, quality, and responsiveness.
• Identify bottlenecks, fix bugs, and maintain code quality.

Delivery and Communication

• Establish effective communication with clients.
• Provide accurate project milestones and timelines, including gathering requirements and translating them into realistic plans.
• Deliver projects on time and communicate changes promptly.
• Maintain consistent communication through phone, text, and email.
• Complete coding tests or challenges as required.
• Maintain positive rapport with all clients.

Required Skills and Qualifications

• Strong understanding of MVC / MVVM software architectural patterns.
• Proficiency in Java and Kotlin with at least 1 year of experience.
• At least one published application on the Play Store.
• Familiarity with the Android SDK, various Android versions, and adapting to different screen sizes.
• Experience with testing frameworks such as Espresso and JUnit.
• Knowledge of mobile data storage using SQLite and Room.
• Familiarity with RESTful APIs for back-end integration.
• Comfortable with source control tools including GIT and SVN.
• Excellent communication skills (written and verbal), along with self-leadership and a strong work ethic.
• A portfolio featuring impactful application releases is a significant advantage.
