Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and deploy end‑to‑end AI systems that transform client operations, broaden data accessibility, and optimize AI and ML pipelines.
  • Architect and implement AI/ML solutions that handle fast-moving data, scale with usage-based infrastructure, and grow to meet evolving mission requirements.
  • Consider the broader ecosystem, operating environment, and future functionality when delivering solutions.
  • Deepen expertise in software engineering, machine learning operations (MLOps), and the deployment and integration of software across diverse mission environments.

Requirements

  • 3+ years as a ML engineer building production‑grade ML solutions, including work with LLMs, agents, or complex automation frameworks
  • Experience in data science or data research settings, training or deploying models across multiple data modalities
  • Experience working in cloud environments, including AWS or Azure
  • Experience deploying and integrating production‑grade ML models using Docker and Kubernetes
  • Experience with LLMs, Deep Learning, and Reinforcement Learning, and with AI agent frameworks such as LangChain, LangGraph, PydanticAI, or llamaindex
  • Experience connecting agents to APIs, cloud platforms, or databases
  • Experience evaluating LLM performance and building observation layers for stakeholders with Grafana, Langfuse, LangSmith, or Phoenix
  • Experience evaluating architectural tradeoffs and designing robust service‑based software for scalable use
  • Ability to obtain a Secret clearance
  • Bachelor’s degree

Compensation

The projected compensation range for this position is $99,000 to $225,000 annually. Compensation at Booz Allen is determined by factors including location, the individual’s education, knowledge, skills, competencies, experience, contract affordability, and organizational requirements. The shown range represents typical salary for this position and is one component of Booz Allen’s total compensation.

Work Model

  • Onsite: Work will primarily be performed at a Booz Allen office or customer facility, with direct collaboration with colleagues and clients as required.
  • Hybrid: Frequent work from a Booz Allen facility is expected, with potential visits to customer facilities, aligned with leadership expectations and role needs.
  • Remote: If listed as remote, there may still be occasions when in-person work at a Booz Allen or customer facility is required.
