Advisory New Application Developer

Church Mutual Insurance, S.I. is seeking an Advisory New Application Developer to help design, build, and refine new application systems in an onsite United States environment. In this role, you will translate business needs into technical program specifications and algorithms, then support implementation, maintenance, and unit testing to help protect system integrity and keep projects on schedule.

What you will do

• Develop and configure all aspects of new application systems, including design, programming, maintenance, and unit testing.
• Design, enhance, program, and maintain application solutions while following development specifications and standards.
• Create detailed technical program specifications and algorithms to implement business functionality and define how to build new programs.
• Complete functional decomposition and design program flow and execution steps.
• Code application logic and perform data access, including data/file access.
• Develop reusable code, object, and service libraries.
• Ensure overall application system integrity and support delivery timelines.
• Design algorithms that implement desired business functionality and determine best-fit implementation approaches.

Requirements

• 3+ years of experience as a new application developer.
• Insurance industry related experience preferred.
• Knowledge of insurance industry and insurance IT systems.
• Knowledge of architecture methods (for example, IAA, SOA) and solution standards.
• Knowledge of SDLC methodologies and Agile methodologies.
• Familiarity with MS Office tools.
• Ability to adapt, with strong collaboration, partnering, communication, and teamwork skills.
• Strong problem-solving and solution development skills.
• Strong application design, coding, modeling, workflow, and component assembly skills.
• Strong unit testing skills.

• Experience in one of the following technology groupings:
  • Java; Java, Junit, TestNG, J2EE, XML, Eclipse/RSA/RAD
  • JavaScript, HTML5, CSS, XHTML
  • .Net, C#,
• Ability to learn CMIC IT systems, methodologies and processes, and policies and products associated with the business.
