Deloitte’s AI & Engineering team is seeking a Software Engineer III to build secure, scalable process engineering and automation solutions. The role supports work across CI/CD, AI-enabled development, and security review artifacts designed for Authority to Operate (ATO) readiness.
Role Focus
As a Software Engineer III, you will help deliver automation and engineering solutions spanning AI, robotic process automation, agents, and scripting tools. The position emphasizes CI/CD practices with automated testing and security reviews, secure development across the SDLC, and production of ATO-ready security documentation.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, build, and maintain CI/CD pipelines that incorporate automated testing and security review checkpoints.
- Establish and enforce application hardening standards across scripts, platform automations, and AI-enabled web applications.
- Conduct security reviews for new development work and generate ATO-ready artifacts, including System Security Plan (SSP) sections, control evidence, and Plan of Action and Milestones (POA&M) inputs.
- Integrate AI-assisted development and testing tools into team workflows; document best practices and train peers on secure development methods.
- Maintain development and production environments, perform secure code reviews, monitor security events, and drive remediation while advancing a shift-left testing culture.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree.
- 4+ years of experience in application development, including test-driven development.
- 4+ years of experience with Python.
- 4+ years of experience across the software development life cycle (SDLC).
- 4+ years of experience in security operations and application security practices.
- Active Top Secret/Sensitive Compartmented Information (TS/SCI) clearance with polygraph.
- Ability to travel 10-25%, on average, based on work and client and industry or sector needs.
- Legally authorized to work in the United States without employer sponsorship, now or in the future.
Preferred Experience
- Designing and maintaining CI/CD pipelines.
- Producing ATO documentation, including SSP sections, control evidence, and POA&M inputs.
- Using GitHub Copilot or large language model (LLM)-based development and test generation tools.
- Conducting secure code reviews for Python, HTML/CSS, .NET, and PowerShell applications.
- Establishing application hardening standards for web applications, automations, or scripts.
- Monitoring production environments for security findings and driving remediation to closure.
