An Application Developer I with the State of South Carolina supports public health administration systems by developing, testing, and documenting complex programs, while integrating back end processes and offering technical guidance to maintain development standards. This hybrid position is based in Cayce, SC, with a salary range of USD 51,520 to 56,500 per year and requires a high school diploma.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate within a team to implement, maintain, and provide technical support for assigned administration applications.
- Serve as a technical backup for designated Administration applications as needed.
- Ensure seamless integration of systems with agency solutions.
- Adhere to established information technology application development standards.
- Assist with the integration and monitoring of supporting system processes, stored procedures, and third party solutions.
- Diagnose and resolve customer-reported issues in a timely manner.
- Act as a technical consultant to customers and coordinate with other technology staff to ensure compliance with IT development standards.
- Support problem resolution and assist the IT Service Center by responding to application related service calls.
- Prepare and maintain documentation for supported applications, including system and administrative materials.
- Provide appropriate project communications and administrative documentation as required.
- Perform other related duties and special projects as assigned, including travel when requested, and respond during emergencies outside normal hours as directed.
Requirements
- A high school diploma and work experience in computer programming; an associate or bachelor’s degree in a related field may substitute for part or all of the required experience.
- Higher education institutions must be recognized by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation.
