Job Description

PMC Media Group is hiring a Web Developer to design, develop, launch, maintain, and optimize modern WordPress websites for clients and PMC.

Responsibilities

  • Design modern, visually compelling websites that turn brand strategy into engaging digital experiences.
  • Use an out-of-the-box approach to deliver distinctive layouts with strong usability and performance.
  • Build site architecture, wireframes, page concepts, user journeys, and responsive layouts.
  • Apply UX/UI principles across desktop, tablet, and mobile experiences.
  • Create interactions, transitions, animations, and visual experiences that support the brand and user journey.
  • Design conversion-focused landing pages aligned with broader marketing goals.
  • Maintain high standards for typography, hierarchy, spacing, imagery, navigation, interaction, and design consistency.
  • Stay current with website design trends and contribute fresh creative thinking.
  • Independently build, develop, customize, test, and launch sophisticated WordPress websites.
  • Translate approved designs and creative concepts into responsive, high-performance digital experiences.
  • Develop and customize layouts, templates, themes, components, plugins, and website functionality.
  • Work within modern WordPress environments and leading visual development frameworks.
  • Use HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and working PHP knowledge to customize and troubleshoot website experiences.
  • Configure and integrate forms, CRM systems, APIs, analytics, marketing technology, third-party applications, and conversion tools.
  • Manage staging environments and handle QA, deployments, domains, DNS, hosting, SSL, redirects, backups, and launches.
  • Support website security, plugin health, compatibility, and overall technical integrity.
  • Diagnose and resolve issues efficiently while maintaining high client service standards.
  • Perform ongoing maintenance, updates, enhancements, troubleshooting, and optimization across a portfolio of client websites.
  • Handle incoming website requests through ticketing and support systems such as Zendesk (e.g., Zendesk).
  • Prioritize and execute multiple maintenance tickets while balancing active builds and development work.
  • Troubleshoot plugin conflicts, broken functionality, performance issues, integration problems, and front-end display issues.
  • Manage content updates, imagery, page and navigation changes, form and functionality updates.
  • Communicate ticket status, requirements, dependencies, and completion clearly.
  • Proactively identify opportunities to improve client websites beyond basic requested edits.
  • Support the continued development and expansion of PMC’s internal agency management platform.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to identify opportunities for functionality, workflows, integrations, automation, and platform enhancements.
  • Translate internal business needs into practical digital solutions and coordinate implementation.
  • Test, document, deploy, and continuously improve new platform functionality.
  • Help manage integrations between internal systems and third-party technology.
  • Evaluate emerging website technologies, platforms, plugins, integrations, AI-enabled tools, and development approaches to strengthen PMC’s digital capabilities.
  • Build technical SEO best practices from the ground up (metadata, redirects, schema, XML sitemaps, indexing controls, and search-friendly architecture).
  • Optimize Core Web Vitals, page speed, image delivery, caching, and overall performance.
  • Apply accessibility best practices and modern web standards throughout design and development.
  • Work with GA4, Google Search Console, Google Tag Manager, and conversion tracking.
  • Support evolving discovery behavior including foundational SEO, AEO, and AI-driven discovery.
  • Partner with the digital marketing team to ensure websites support attribution, campaigns, lead generation, conversion, and measurable performance.
  • Participate in client discovery sessions, website strategy, sitemap development, creative reviews, QA, launches, and client presentations.
  • Present website strategy, creative concepts, design direction, functionality, and recommendations directly to clients.
  • Collaborate with strategists, designers, copywriters, digital marketers, account managers, and clients.
  • Manage multiple builds, requests, tickets, deadlines, and competing priorities in a high-volume agency environment.
  • Use project management and agency workflow platforms to manage tasks, timelines, approvals, documentation, and deliverables.
  • Maintain PMC standards for creativity, responsiveness, accuracy, and execution across simultaneous priorities.

Requirements

  • 3 or more years of professional experience.
  • Strong WordPress development experience (WordPress development is core to the role).
  • Ability to take work from initial strategy and concept through design, development, testing, launch, maintenance, and continuous optimization.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Web Design & Development, Computer Science, Digital Media, Interactive Design, UX/UI Design, or a related field (preferred).
  • Working knowledge of HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and PHP to customize and troubleshoot website experiences.
  • Comfort working within modern WordPress environments and leading visual development frameworks.
