Test Automation Software Engineer – Level 5
Job Description
Northrop Grumman Space Sector seeks a senior level Test Automation Software Engineer – Level 5 in Morrisville, NC. This onsite role operates on a 9/80 schedule with every other Friday off and focuses on technical planning, system integration, verification and validation, and translating requirements into hardware and software specifications.
Responsibilities
- Conduces technical planning, system integration, verification and validation, cost and risk analysis, and assessments of supportability and effectiveness for total systems.
- Performs analyses across all levels of total system products, including concept, design, fabrication, test, installation, operation, maintenance, and disposal.
- Ensures the logical and systematic conversion of customer or product requirements into total system solutions that honor technical, schedule, and cost constraints.
- Executes functional analysis, timeline analysis, trade studies, requirements allocation, and interface definition studies to translate customer requirements into hardware and software specifications.
- Maintains existing operating procedures and updates them to reflect lessons learned from real-time performance; develops new procedures as needed and interfaces with program and customer personnel.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree with 12 years of relevant experience, or Master's degree with 10 years, or PhD with 8 years of relevant experience.
- Active U.S. Government DoD Top-Secret (TS) / Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI) clearance current and within scope at the time of application, with the ability to reasonably succeed a counterintelligence polygraph.
- Experience with Atlassian tools including JIRA and Confluence.
- Experience delivering software within an Agile framework and leading cross-functional teams.
- Experience with product lifecycles for new and existing products.
- Ability to understand wants versus needs of internal and external stakeholders.
- Experience translating technical and business requirements into Epics, Features, and User Stories.
- Proficiency in Python programming language.
- Experience with one or more test automation frameworks and tools such as Behave, Zephyr, Cucumber, RFT, or Robot Framework.
- Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, and Nexus.
- Experience with CI/CD orchestration using Jenkins and GitLab.
