Job Description

The Teradata Developer role at Sonsoft Inc is an on site opportunity based in Atlanta, GA. The position emphasizes Teradata database design, SQL development, Unix scripting, and performance tuning, with strong collaboration with subject matter experts and stakeholders and a solid grounding in Big Data, BI, and data warehousing concepts.

Responsibilities

  • Lead requirement elicitation and analysis, translating business needs into concrete design specifications.
  • Coordinate with subject matter experts and stakeholders, manage timelines, handle escalations, and provide timely status updates.
  • Apply solid knowledge of Teradata concepts and both logical and physical database design.
  • Work with Teradata utilities such as TPT, TPump, BTEQ, FastLoad, FastExport, and Multi-Load.
  • Operate in a Unix environment and develop Unix shell scripts as required.
  • Perform performance tuning and optimization to handle large data volumes within Teradata.
  • Develop SQL components including views, stored procedures, macros, and functions in line with user requirements and architectural standards.
  • Possess familiarity with Big Data technologies and BI/DW concepts; this is considered a plus.
  • Maintain strong communication skills to facilitate collaboration across teams and stakeholders.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent from an accredited institution; three years of progressive experience may be considered in lieu of each year of education.
  • Minimum of 4 years of experience in Information Technologies.
