Responsibilities
- Prioritize architecture and solution efficiency to optimize design and delivery.
- Balance performance, capacity, and reliability with core system functionality.
- Identify opportunities to optimize code and improve overall efficiency.
- Contribute to code reviews and support environment builds, release notes, and build notices.
- Review code to proactively identify defects, trace their sources, and aid in troubleshooting various issues.
- Develop optimized application modules and unit tests with minimal guidance.
- Understand low-level designs and how to integrate them into the broader application.
- Utilize design tools to regularly share and discuss design ideas for large systems.
- Comfortably use low-level inspection tools such as packet capture and hardware counters.
- Apply knowledge of modern multi-processor architectures to tune for high throughput and low latency.
- Employ established patterns to advance best practices and drive process improvements.
Requirements
- Ability to assess algorithmic and data-structure characteristics under constraints.
- Proficiency in multi-threading, concurrent data structures, shared memory, asynchronous programming, JNI, NIO, and HashMap.
- Understanding of queue theory and various designs to enhance system performance.
- Experience with networking protocols such as UDP and TCP.
- Familiarity with redundancy and fault tolerance techniques.
- Preferred experience with EF_VI, JNI, and On-load Solar Flare extension APIs.
- Awareness of thread pinning, interrupts, core isolation, jitter, NUMA nodes, and TLB caches; added value if demonstrated.
- Familiarity with JVM internals and garbage collection tuning.
- Advanced knowledge of Linux kernel and OS internals.
