Sr. Data Engineer, Deal Tooling and Insights, Strategic Customer Engagements

Based in Seattle, WA onsite, this Sr. Data Engineer role on the Strategic Customer Engagements team focuses on building scalable data analytics platforms and translating data into actionable insights for strategic deals at AWS. The position offers a competitive annual compensation ranging from USD 154,600 to 209,100, a comprehensive benefits package, and restricted stock units (RSUs). A minimum of five years of data engineering experience is required.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and maintain the backend data infrastructure powering analytical platforms and applications, ensuring data is clean, current, and optimized for downstream use.
• Drive architectural improvements to simplify complex data systems and transformations, proactively addressing bottlenecks in the data stack.
• Partner with business intelligence engineers, product management, and stakeholders to translate business questions into technical data requirements and define data products.
• Maintain data quality through monitoring, validation, auditing, and thorough documentation of pipelines and data sources.
• Utilize AWS services and GenAI to develop next-generation data solutions that boost efficiency and unlock new analytical capabilities.
• Build data pipelines tailored for LLM consumption and create data products and feature stores that support GenAI applications in near real time.
• Lead design reviews for your team’s data architecture and contribute to related software and data system design discussions.

Requirements

• Minimum five years of data engineering experience.
• Strong background in data modeling, data warehousing, and building ETL pipelines.
• Proficiency in SQL.
• Experience with at least one modern programming or scripting language, such as Python, Java, Scala, or Node.js.
• Experience mentoring teammates on data engineering best practices.
