Sr. Data Engineer
Job Description
The Sr. Data Engineer role supports the Data & Analytics organization’s Data Foundation team, with ownership of governed, production-ready data pipeline design and implementation. The position focuses on building end-to-end ingestion, transformation, and serving layers using Snowflake and Azure.
Role Overview
You will lead enterprise-grade pipeline work within governed data products, ensuring data is reliably ingested, transformed, and served with clear lineage and stewardship. This role also partners with the Director, Data & Analytics on platform strategy, roadmap, and the Center of Excellence operating model.

- Architect ingestion and integration patterns across source systems, applying CDC, batch, and streaming approaches where appropriate.
- Establish transformation frameworks using dbt as the modeling standard, ensuring pipelines are version-controlled, tested, and observable.
- Own pipeline SLAs by defining and tracking freshness, completeness, and error-rate targets, with documented runbooks and production on-call readiness.
- Drive schema governance, data modeling discipline, and data lineage and metadata management so governed KPIs have traceable sources and clear stewardship.
- Partner directly with the Director, Data & Analytics on platform strategy, roadmap, and Center of Excellence operating model.
- Mentor Data Engineers through code review, architectural pairing, and knowledge sharing as the function scales.
Required Qualifications
- 4-7 years of professional data engineering experience, with demonstrated technical leadership on enterprise-grade data platforms.
- Advanced SQL skills, including complex query authoring, performance tuning, and schema design at scale.
