Job Description
This hands-on Data Engineer role is for an immediate-start client consulting engagement, with a focus on Snowflake and dbt. You will help design and optimize data pipelines and data models while bridging legacy SQL Server sources with modern cloud data platforms, working closely with client stakeholders on requirements and technical decisions.
Key Responsibilities
- Build and maintain data models and transformations using dbt.
- Design, develop, and tune Snowflake environments, including warehouses, schemas, security, and performance.
- Migrate and integrate data from SQL Server into Snowflake.
- Write clean, efficient, well-tested SQL to support reliable data transformations.
- Collaborate with client teams to gather requirements and translate business needs into technical solutions.
- Recommend best practices for data architecture, governance, and cost optimization.
Required Qualifications
- Hands-on experience with Snowflake in a production environment.
- Solid experience building models and pipelines with dbt (Core or Cloud).
- Strong SQL Server background, including T-SQL, stored procedures, and SSIS or similar.
- Excellent SQL skills and a solid understanding of data warehousing concepts.
- Availability to start immediately.

Preferred Qualifications
- A DBA background, including performance tuning, backup and recovery, security, and high availability.
- Prior consulting experience, or a real interest in building a consulting career.
- Experience with Git, CI/CD, and orchestration tools such as Airflow or Dagster.
- Familiarity with Azure, AWS, or GCP.
- Snowflake or dbt certifications.
Compensation
USD 110,000 - 120,000 per year
Pay: $110,000.00 - $120,000.00 per year
