Job Description

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, implement, and support enterprise web applications that enable critical business operations across UCSF.
  • Apply advanced software engineering principles to medium- and large-scale projects, translating intricate requirements into scalable, secure, and high-performing technical solutions.
  • Create compelling web interfaces within the IT Enterprise Systems team.
  • Develop and maintain full-stack applications.
  • Support enterprise integrations.
  • Collaborate closely with business stakeholders, project managers, and technical teams to gather requirements.
  • Develop prototypes.
  • Create technical documentation.
  • Troubleshoot production issues.
  • Deliver reliable solutions that support UCSF's mission of education, research, and patient care.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Minimum of 3 years of professional experience in full-stack application development.
  • Proficiency with Node.js, PHP, JavaScript, and jQuery.
  • Experience with PHP frameworks such as Laravel and Lumen.
  • MySQL database design, development, optimization, and performance tuning.
  • Experience working in Linux/Unix environments, including shell scripting and cron job management.
  • Knowledge of modern UI/UX principles and front-end development best practices.
  • Experience with software development lifecycle methodologies, including Agile and Scrum.
  • Experience using GitHub or similar version control systems for collaboration.
  • Understanding of enterprise application integrations and business systems, including ERP platforms such as Oracle or similar solutions.
  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to develop, execute, and maintain sustainable testing strategies and test plans.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver high-quality solutions on schedule.

Salary

USD 101,300 to 190,000 per year

Work Schedule

  • Flexible work arrangement with onsite presence required three days per week at UCSF Mission Center Building.
