Job Description

Work on SDKs and developer infrastructure at Rad Hires in an on-site, full-time role in Williamsburg, Brooklyn, NY. This position supports building SDKs and compiler/generator infrastructure, with hiring options for both SDK Generalists and SDK Language Specialists across multiple languages. You’ll help teams deliver consistent, reliable developer experiences from generator output to production-ready SDK capabilities.

Compensation includes $170,000–$230,000 per year plus equity (0.1%–0.3%). If you live near the office, there is also a $18,000 annual living proximity bonus. Meals are provided at the office (breakfast, lunch, and dinner), along with health, dental, and vision insurance and unlimited vacation. Visa sponsorship is not currently offered, but may be considered for exceptional candidates.

Responsibilities

  • Drive feature parity across SDKs, including advanced behaviors like auto-pagination and server-sent events.
  • Expand SDK coverage into new languages (examples include Swift, Rust, and Terraform) by building and improving generators.
  • Contribute across multiple codebases using TypeScript, Go, and Python.
  • Collaborate with leadership to support team growth through recruiting and mentorship.
  • Define what a high-quality SDK looks like for your language, focusing on idiomatic APIs, ease of use, and reliability.
  • Own core components of the open-source compiler to add features and improve developer experience.
  • Stay current with language-specific tools and libraries, and engage directly with developers via GitHub and community forums.

Requirements

  • 4–10 years of professional software engineering experience.
  • Deep expertise in one of the following languages for specialists: Java, PHP, Python, TypeScript, or Ruby.
  • For generalists: broad technical fluency with the ability to contribute across different languages.
  • Experience working in fast-paced startup environments; founder experience is a plus.
  • Strong product thinking and empathy for developer experience.
  • Eagerness to work in a polyglot environment.
