Job Description
Software Engineer III focused on Python, PySpark, and AWS within JPMorganChase's Payments Trust and Safety organization.
Responsibilities
- Deliver and iterate software solutions, including design and development, while troubleshooting technical challenges with an approach that goes beyond routine methods to solve problems.
- Write secure, high quality production code and maintain algorithms that align with related systems in real time.
- Produce architecture and design artifacts for complex applications and ensure software development aligns with design constraints.
- Collect, analyze, synthesize, and present visualizations and reports from large, diverse data sets to support ongoing improvements of applications and systems.
- Proactively surface hidden data patterns and issues to drive enhancements in coding hygiene and system architecture.
- Contribute to software engineering communities of practice and participate in events exploring new and emerging technologies.
- Support a team culture that emphasizes diversity, opportunity, inclusion, and respect.
Requirements
- At least 3 years of software development experience building enterprise applications.
- Ability to write secure, high quality code with minimal guidance using Python 3 or PySpark.
- Design, develop, code, and troubleshoot with consideration for upstream and downstream systems and their technical implications.
- Hands-on experience in system design, application development, testing, and ensuring operational stability.
- Experience coding in a large corporate environment using modern programming languages and database querying languages, including debugging and maintenance.
- Ability to analyze large, diverse data sets to identify problems and inform decisions that support secure, stable application development.
- Solid knowledge of the Software Development Life Cycle.
- Strong grounding in agile practices such as CI/CD, Application Resiliency, and Security.
- Demonstrated awareness of software applications and technical processes within a specified discipline (cloud, artificial intelligence, machine learning, mobile, etc.).
