Job Description

Noblis is seeking a Software Engineer / Developer to help build containerized software that supports NASA and FAA efforts to improve the efficiency and safety of commercial air travel. This role spans the full software lifecycle, from gathering and shaping requirements through development, testing, deployment, support release cycles, and ongoing maintenance.

This position is remote, with opportunities to collaborate across disciplines and contribute to technical planning, demonstrations, and code quality through reviews and shared engineering practices.

What You’ll Do

  • Lead requirements gathering and analysis, including design work, sprint planning, and creating Jira tickets to support feature development and release cycles
  • Support V&V testing activities such as smoke testing, performance profiling, load testing, and regression, along with verification and validation
  • Handle deployment workflows across Dev, Staging, and PROD environments, and perform bug fixing as issues are identified
  • Participate in planning reviews, product demos, and retrospectives
  • Manage databases as part of the application delivery lifecycle
  • Use AI tools to generate Python code as part of development workflows
  • Formulate plans for software architecture and development efforts to support demos
  • Develop and maintain software and scripts using Java, Python, and Bash
  • Create and maintain application containers using Docker
  • Create and maintain unit tests to support reliability and regression coverage
  • Conduct reviews of other engineers’ code to support quality and consistency

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum 8 years of experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Computer Engineering, or an equivalent background
  • Experience developing with Java, Python, and Bash
  • Experience using AI tools for code development
  • Experience with Docker
  • Experience with Linux
  • Proven organizational and communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office or similar applications
  • Ability to understand and code proof-of-concepts in a modern programming language
  • Ability to provide proof of U.S. Citizenship
