Software Engineer- Building Automation (DDC Programmer)

Kodiak Labor Solutions is seeking an experienced Software Engineer specializing in Building Automation (DDC Programmer) to design, develop, and support software for DDC controls, HVAC automation, and integrated building systems. This role emphasizes programming, commissioning, and systems integration within the building automation industry. The position is based in Woburn, MA on a hybrid schedule, with a salary range of USD 100,000 to 135,000 per year.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement BAS software, graphics, and control logic for projects, following company standards.
• Lead and coordinate software-related project tasks, including vendor interfaces and system integration activities.
• Read and interpret mechanical, electrical, and control drawings to define sequences of operation.
• Develop, compile, test, and deploy HVAC control programs using BACnet, Modbus, and other open protocols.
• Assist commissioning engineers during startup, performance testing, and project handover.
• Develop and refine library code and reusable software components.
• Offer technical support to the Service Department for fault diagnostics and system troubleshooting.
• Collaborate with engineering, project management, field teams, and customers to deliver projects successfully.

Requirements

• At least five years of experience programming DDC or BAS systems.
• Solid knowledge of networking, temperature control strategies, and integrated building systems.
• Hands-on experience with HVAC systems, control sequences, and facility automation.
• Familiarity with construction practices, installation standards, and field coordination.
• Proven ability to work in teams, communicate effectively, and uphold accountability.
