Software Engineer (AI-Assisted Development)
Job Description
Nathan Kunes Inc is hiring a Software Engineer focused on AI-assisted development to build next-generation tools and web-based applications that connect to custom embedded systems. This full-time role is based in San Diego, CA with 100% onsite expectations and follows a 9/80 schedule (every other Friday off).
You will use generative AI and AI-assisted coding tools to design, develop, test, and maintain software solutions, while also partnering with customers to refine requirements and validate designs through review sessions.
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and implement AI-assisted software applications
- Write requirements, specifications, and test documents
- Execute testing and document completed testing
- Interface with customers to develop requirements and participate in design reviews
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Systems, or related field (or equivalent practical experience)
- 2+ years of professional experience in Software Engineering
- Experience with languages including:
- High-level: Python, JavaScript/TypeScript, Go
- Systems: C/C++, Rust, C#
- Experience with Linux systems and Virtual Machines
- Experience in web-based UI development
- Network Software Engineering (TLS / HTTPS)
- U.S. citizenship required; must be able to obtain and maintain a DoD security clearance
