Software Engineer

Deloitte’s AI & Engineering team is seeking a Software Engineer to support sustainment operations through application integrations and related components. In this onsite role in San Diego, CA, you will contribute to enhancements and defect fixes, help with testing and release preparation, support incident troubleshooting, and maintain clear technical documentation for designs and support procedures.

Within Deloitte’s Government & Public Services (GPS) practice, the team serves federal, state, and local government clients as well as public higher education institutions. The Engineering as a Service offering supports end-to-end design, implementation, and technology operations, using flexible delivery models tailored to each client’s needs.

Responsibilities

• Implement approved enhancements and defect fixes, participate in code review, and support unit and integration testing plus release preparation.
• Assist with incident troubleshooting and document technical designs, changes, and support procedures.
• Collaborate with the Custom Development Lead, Product Management, and teams across infrastructure, data, and cybersecurity to clarify requirements, manage dependencies, and validate solutions against acceptance criteria.
• Identify and communicate application performance, security, reliability, and deployment risks promptly.
• Provide dependable development support to maintain stable mission services.

Qualifications

• Required: Bachelor’s degree or 6+ years of equivalent experience.
• Legally authorized to work in the United States without employer sponsorship, now or in the future.
• Active Secret security clearance required.
• 4+ years of experience with C#, .NET Framework, and SQL Server.
