Software Engineer

Que Technology Group, Inc. is seeking a Software Engineer to support daily operations and work alongside cross-functional teams to troubleshoot complex issues and help maintain high system availability. The position is based in Fort Meade, MD and includes development, deployment, and on-site technical support responsibilities across multiple locations.

On-site Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain applications using Python.
• Build, deploy, and manage containerized applications with Docker.
• Design and optimize database solutions with MongoDB.
• Collaborate with teammates using Git for version control and support code reviews.
• Ensure CI/CD processes run smoothly and participate across the full software development lifecycle.
• Participate in code reviews and provide feedback to support quality and consistency.
• Provide on-site technical support, including diagnosing and resolving issues related to hardware, applications, and user environments.
• Perform system administration tasks as needed to maintain operational stability across multiple locations.
• Manage and execute deployments to production sites, including pushing new software versions, validating rollouts, and minimizing disruption to business operations.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or a related discipline from an accredited college or university, plus Seven (7) years of experience as a Software Engineer in programs and contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity.
• Alternatively, Four (4) years of additional SWE experience on projects with similar software processes may substitute for the bachelor’s degree, evaluated on a case-by-case basis.
• Proficiency in Python, Docker, and MongoDB.
• Strong understanding of Git and collaborative development workflows.
• Experience with JavaScript for UI development using Angular2 and/or React.
• Familiarity with CI/CD tooling and Agile methodologies.
• Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Exposure to tools such as Ansible, JIRA, Bitbucket, and Terraform.
• Familiarity with Kubernetes.
• Zabbix development experience.
• Scripting experience in Python, Java, C#, and work in Linux environments.
