Software Engineer
Job Description
Invictus Technology LLC is seeking a Software Engineer to join its Chicago team in a full-time role. The position centers on developing and maintaining a high-performance trading system using C++ across Linux and Windows, suitable for developers with 0–2 years of experience.
What you'll do
Contribute to the development of our trading system, spanning algorithm work, fast data analysis, and the design of an intelligent execution engine.
Responsibilities
- Develop, maintain, and optimize C++ code for both Linux and Windows environments as part of the trading system.
- Engage in trading algorithm development, high-speed data analysis, and execution engine design.
- Take on additional opportunities as assigned to support system goals.
Requirements
- Strong knowledge of modern C++, memory management, the STL, templates, and concurrency.
- Bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Science, Mathematics, Engineering, or a closely related field.
- Solid fundamentals in data structures and algorithms.
- Comfort working in both Linux and Windows development environments.

Salary
USD 99,230 to 119,503 per year.
What you’ll do

What we're looking for
- Deep knowledge of modern C++, memory management, STL, templates, and concurrency.
- Bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Science, Mathematics, Engineering, or a closely related field.

- Comfort in a Linux and Windows development environment.
Nice to have (not required)
- 1–2 years of professional software engineering experience.
- Database experience (MySQL/PostgreSQL).
- Experience with High Performance Networking (Sockets, UDP, RDMA, Multicast, etc.).
- Deep knowledge of multithreading and lock-free programming.
- Background in quantitative, scientific, or financial domains, or relevant personal/open-source projects.
