Software Engineer
Job Description
Embedded software engineering role responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining software for Clear Align’s EO/IR imaging and sensing systems, contributing to performance, reliability, and compliance across the product lifecycle. This onsite position is based in Nashua, New Hampshire.
Responsibilities
- Assimilate Clear Align's software architectures, development tools, and coding standards.
- Assess existing embedded software designs and accompanying documentation.
- Establish development environments and master source control and issue-tracking systems.
- Assist in debugging and validation of embedded software under supervision.
- Collaborate with hardware and systems engineering teams to coordinate integration.
- Design, implement, and debug embedded software components independently.
- Engage in peer code reviews and participate in design discussions.
- Integrate software with hardware platforms and verify new product features.
- Support software QA, optimization efforts, and production issue resolution.
- Document software designs and changes clearly and thoroughly.
- Deliver robust, production-ready embedded software solutions.
- Review code and designs to ensure alignment with requirements and specifications.
- Mentor junior engineers and promote engineering best practices.
- Improve software performance, reliability, and maintainability.
- Support system-level testing and troubleshooting for fielded products.
Requirements
- A Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science or Computer Engineering is required.
- Professional software engineering experience.
- Experience with embedded systems and Linux kernel or driver development.
- Proficiency in C, C++, and Python.
- Strong documentation and writing skills.
- U.S. Person eligible for a Department of Defense security clearance.
- Minimum 4 years of software engineering experience.
