Job Description

FirstDay Foundation is hiring an on-site Senior Workday Developer in San Antonio, Texas. In this role, you will design, develop, configure, and optimize the Workday platform across HR, Finance, and business operations while providing technical leadership to deliver advanced solutions. This fully onsite position requires in-person work in San Antonio; remote or hybrid arrangements are not offered.

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, configure, and maintain technical solutions across the Workday platform.
  • Provide hands-on support for configuration and optimization of modules including HCM, Benefits, Recruiting, Payroll, and Compensation.
  • Support system configuration changes, enhancements, and ongoing platform optimization.
  • Collaborate with functional teams to translate business requirements into technical Workday solutions.
  • Support the configuration and maintenance of the Workday Business Process Framework.
  • Design, develop, and maintain integrations between Workday and internal or external systems.
  • Build and support integrations using Workday development tools including EIB, Core Connectors, Workday Studio, REST and SOAP APIs, and Web services.
  • Maintain existing integrations and resolve issues related to performance, data mapping, and system connectivity.
  • Ensure integration reliability, performance, and scalability within enterprise environments.
  • Support integrations between Workday Recruiting and third-party platforms such as Paradox conversational AI.
  • Design and develop advanced Workday reports and dashboards to support HR, Finance, and business operations.
  • Build and maintain complex calculated fields and custom reporting solutions.
  • Develop enterprise reporting frameworks to support operational and executive decision-making.
  • Support advanced analytics and data modeling using Workday Prism Analytics.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to ensure reporting solutions meet business requirements and data accuracy standards.
  • Diagnose and resolve complex technical issues related to Workday integrations, configuration, reporting, data inconsistencies, and security access.
  • Investigate system errors and performance issues and provide timely resolution.
  • Monitor Workday platform performance and recommend improvements for optimization.
  • Work closely with internal stakeholders to resolve functional and technical issues.
  • Support the configuration and maintenance of the Workday Security Framework, including security groups, domains, and role-based access controls.
  • Ensure configurations align with data security and compliance standards, maintaining proper access controls and governance.
  • Participate in Workday release cycles, including reviewing new features, impact analysis, testing, validation, and supporting deployment activities.
  • Ensure system updates are implemented without disrupting business operations.
  • Collaborate with the Workday Architect to design, implement, and optimize solutions across the Workday platform.
  • Serve as a technical subject matter expert for Workday development and provide guidance to analysts, developers, and functional teams.
  • Partner with HCM, Finance, IT, and business stakeholders to deliver system improvements and enhancements.
  • Assist with technical documentation, system architecture discussions, and platform strategy; support continuous improvement initiatives for the Workday environment.
  • Demonstrate strong expertise in Workday integrations development, including Studio, Core Connectors, EIB, and REST/SOAP APIs, and proven experience with advanced reports, dashboards, and calculated fields.
  • Maintain deep knowledge of the Workday Business Process Framework and Security Framework; experience with Prism Analytics and Workday Extend is advantageous.
  • Provide troubleshooting and problem-solving within Workday environments and support enterprise-scale implementations.
  • Manage multiple priorities and collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality solutions.
  • Operate as a highly motivated technical professional who can work independently while collaborating with multiple business teams.

Requirements

  • 8+ years of hands-on Workday technical experience across multiple modules (HCM, Recruiting, Benefits, Payroll, and Compensation).
  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
  • Certifications in Workday Integrations, Workday HCM, Workday Studio, and Workday Reporting.
  • Experience with Workday Extend development.
  • Experience integrating Paradox with Workday Recruiting.
  • Experience supporting large-scale enterprise HRIS systems.
  • Experience providing technical leadership or mentoring junior Workday developers or analysts.
  • Experience supporting Workday implementations, upgrades, or major system enhancements.
