Senior Staff Software Engineer – F22
Job Description
As a Senior Staff Software Engineer on the F-22 program at Lockheed Martin Corporation, you will lead the Stores Management System software development and guide embedded C/C++ work for airborne applications within the Aeronautics division.

Responsibilities
- Provide technical direction for the F-22 Stores Management System team.
- Develop engineering basis of estimate bids for new features.
- Collaborate regularly with the Cost Accounting Manager to ensure accurate tracking.
- Engage with engineering and program management leadership on a continual basis.
- Advance product development using an Agile methodology.
- Design, implement, and integrate C/C++ code for airborne applications.
- Contribute to requirement analysis, verification, and validation activities.
- Lead and support hardware in the loop (HWIL) simulations and testing.
- Work with cross functional teams to troubleshoot issues and improve software quality.
- Contribute to documentation and configuration management leveraging IBM DOORS.
Requirements
- Expert proficiency in C++ or C.
- Experience with IBM DOORS or comparable requirements management tools.
- Knowledge of F-22 subsystems and software architecture is highly desired (legacy aircraft platforms).
- Strong process knowledge for developing mission-critical embedded software for aircraft applications (DO-178B, C, etc.).
- Familiarity with HWIL simulation environments, strong requirements-based testing (RVT), and unit testing.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with a drive to learn emerging technologies.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Work Schedules
Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules to provide additional flexibility. Schedules range from a standard 40 hours over five days to condensed formats, which grant extra time off beyond Paid Time Off.
