Senior Software Engineer, Programming Foundations, ASBX

Amazon.com Services LLC is hiring a Senior Software Engineer for Programming Foundations, ASBX, onsite in Arlington, VA. The role centers on building and operating AI powered testing platforms and distributed systems at scale, with opportunities to influence strategy and mentor colleagues. The position offers a competitive annual compensation range of USD 168,100 to 227,400 per year and a clear path to technical leadership.

Responsibilities

• Act as a clear technical leader, collaborating with teammates to design architectures that scale with business needs
• Deliver high-quality technical solutions quickly and reliably to delight customers
• Build and operate distributed systems at global scale, including serverless test orchestration, on-demand execution across all AWS regions, and load testing platforms handling millions of transactions daily
• Demonstrate strong taste in developer experience and tooling design throughout the software development lifecycle
• Partner with your manager and leadership to influence business strategy and product roadmaps
• Meet with customers to learn their testing needs and help shape their testing story
• Set a high bar for technical and operational excellence and empower colleagues to continually raise the bar

Requirements

• 5+ years of non-internship professional software development experience
• 5+ years of programming experience in at least one programming language
• 5+ years of leading design or architecture for new and existing systems (design patterns, reliability, scaling)
• Experience as a mentor, tech lead, or leading an engineering team
