Job Description
Senior Software Engineer for Loan Syndication and Sales & Trading at Truist Bank, onsite in Atlanta, GA.
Responsibilities
- Drive the architecture and delivery of high impact software solutions within the Loan Syndication and Sales & Trading domain
- Apply software engineering and architectural practices, plus emerging technologies, to create scalable, innovative solutions
- Lead large or complex projects, delivering cross-team guidance, coaching, and training to strengthen technical capability
- Serve as the technical SME for the LoanIQ application, owning design, development, configuration, and support across the platform and its integrations
- Design, build, and maintain scalable, resilient solutions for loan syndication, loan sales and trading, agency servicing, and related capital markets workflows
- Translate trading desk, syndication, operations, and finance requirements into robust technical implementations
- Lead analysis and resolution of complex production issues, including trade booking, position keeping, cash flow processing, and settlement breaks
- Develop and maintain integrations between LoanIQ and upstream/downstream systems (trade capture, settlement, accounting/GL, market data, reporting, reconciliation)
- Promote code quality through design reviews, code reviews, automated testing, and adherence to SDLC and change-management controls
- Collaborate with vendors such as Finastra on platform upgrades, patches, and roadmap alignment
- Mentor junior engineers and provide technical guidance across the team
- Ensure solutions meet regulatory, audit, security, and data governance requirements for capital markets systems
- Lead end-to-end technical design and implementation of scalable, secure, and highly available solutions, creating patterns for others to follow
- Contribute architectural approaches for complex initiatives and help achieve operational targets with major business impact
- Adopt and refine advanced engineering standards and governance to improve quality, reliability, and delivery across teams
- Collaborate with senior engineers, product partners, and architecture teams to shape technology approaches and inform roadmaps
- Independently troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues, delivering performance and reliability improvements
- Provide ongoing technical guidance, coaching, and training, delegating work and elevating the technical bar through reviews and knowledge sharing
- Evaluate emerging technologies, build prototypes, and contribute to new features or capabilities
- Contribute to long-term technical goals and plans with well-reasoned recommendations and design proposals
- Lead large initiatives that span beyond the immediate team, coordinating work to ensure cohesive, high-quality outcomes with limited supervision
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field
- Minimum of 7 years of professional software development experience
- Deep knowledge of multiple programming languages, software architecture, and design principles
- Strong understanding of the software development lifecycle, testing, deployment, and security practices
- Advanced degree in Computer Science or related technical discipline
- Professional certifications such as Certified Software Development Professional (CSDP) or equivalent
- Deep expertise in cloud-native architectures, microservices, container orchestration, and DevOps
- Proficiency with Agile frameworks, CI/CD processes, and enterprise innovation management
