Job Description

Huxley§ is hiring a Senior Software Engineer/Forward Deployed to help build and deliver client-facing, AI-powered voice and automation solutions in Chicago. This hybrid role blends hands-on engineering with direct customer collaboration, turning complex business needs into working integrations, APIs, and production-ready systems.

You will own implementation work end to end, from initial design through production delivery, while developing the technical foundation that enables modern AI capabilities for client environments.

What you’ll do

  • Build and deliver AI-powered voice and automation solutions for clients.
  • Develop integrations, APIs, and data pipelines that connect client systems to AI-enabled workflows.
  • Own implementations from design through production, ensuring delivered systems meet client requirements.
  • Work directly with customers to solve complex business challenges using modern AI technologies.

What you bring

  • 5+ years of software engineering experience.
  • Strong development skills in Java/Spring Boot and Python.
  • Experience with REST APIs, system integrations, and data pipelines.
  • Knowledge of OAuth, webhooks, JSON, CSV, and SFTP.
  • Experience with AWS, Docker, Kubernetes, and CI/CD.
  • Proficiency with AI-assisted development tools including Copilot, ChatGPT, Claude, and Cursor.
  • Strong communication skills and comfort in client-facing collaboration.
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen or Green Card holder.
  • Hybrid schedule: 3 days onsite in the Loop, Chicago, IL.

  • Familiarity with LangChain, LangGraph, or similar AI frameworks.
  • Solutions engineering or professional services experience.
  • Experience in a startup or high-growth environment.

Location: Chicago, IL (hybrid). Salary: USD 150,000 per year.
