Senior Software Engineer
Job Description
PLEXSYS, headquartered in Camas, Washington, is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to design, develop, and refine corporate software applications from the ground up. This onsite role at the Camas headquarters blends hands-on engineering with leadership in the design phase, requirement documentation, and mentoring for junior engineers.
Responsibilities
- Design, build, and modify corporate software solutions.
- Prepare clear feature requirements and corresponding design documents.
- Oversee development timelines, drive the design phase, and align feature sets with input from product leads and product managers.
- Leverage experience to plan and achieve assigned development objectives.
- Provide leadership and mentorship to junior and mid-level engineers.
- Deliver detailed software designs and implement or maintain code accordingly.
- Handle a range of complex engineering tasks.
- Offer technical support remotely and on-site to current and potential customers.
- Manage schedules, deadlines, and development goals.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in computer science or a related field; a Master's degree is desirable.
- At least four years of professional object-oriented software design and implementation experience.
- Proven organizational, leadership, decision-making, and communication abilities.
- Proven ability to rapidly learn new technologies.
- Strong critical thinking skills.
- Creativity and latitude in developing solutions is required.
- Willingness to travel as business needs dictate.
- Eligibility to obtain and maintain a US Secret security clearance.

Desirable
- Knowledge of modeling and simulation concepts and practices
- Experience writing software with C++ and Scala
- Experience developing with Qt/QML
- Experience with voice and audio sampling, formats, streaming, and processing
- Knowledge of RF and radio transmission systems

- Ability to analyze, debug, and optimize complex software projects

- Military experience in Command and Control or Intelligence, Reconnaissance and Surveillance fields
