Job Description

Uline is looking for a Senior Software Developer - Java to help lead the development, deployment, and ongoing maintenance of advanced Java applications. In this onsite role in Waukegan, you will build and improve enterprise Java full-stack solutions, partnering with the team on architecture and delivery.

What you’ll do

  • Craft, test, and deploy reliable Java applications that align with business needs, following industry-leading technologies and coding standards.
  • Perform code reviews, optimize application performance, and help maintain strong responsiveness and overall code quality.
  • Support architectural design reviews and project planning by contributing insights that drive strategic progress.
  • Mentor and guide other developers, demonstrating leadership within cross-functional development practices.
  • Collaborate with the broader development team to keep processes consistent and deliverables on schedule.

What you’ll bring

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or relevant programming education and experience.
  • 7+ years of hands-on Java full-stack development, including enterprise solutions built with the Spring framework.
  • Experience with REST web services, microservice environments, Git, JPA, SQL, JSON, and code versioning tooling.
  • Experience working with SOAP and XML, along with familiarity with caching and service discovery.
  • Working knowledge of CI / CD tools and familiarity with Agile methodologies.

Compensation

Pay range: $96,000 - $148,000 per year
