Job Description

As a Senior Lead Software Engineer within JPMorganChase’s Consumer and Community Banking - Digital Technology team, you will help build secure, scalable technology products and architect agentic AI-enabled engineering workflows that improve delivery speed, code quality, and operational outcomes. This onsite role in Plano, TX combines engineering leadership with enterprise-scale impact, supporting modern banking experiences across personal and small business banking, lending, mortgages, credit cards, payments, auto finance, and investment advice.

You’ll also work within a team that serves consumers, small businesses, municipalities, and non-profits, contributing to award winning tools and services while helping deliver cutting edge mobile applications, digital experiences, and next generation banking technology.

Responsibilities

  • Create complex, scalable coding frameworks using appropriate software design frameworks.
  • Develop secure, high-quality production code, and review and debug work produced by others.
  • Architect and govern agentic AI-enabled engineering workflows (using enterprise-authorized tools within the work environment) to improve delivery speed, code quality, and operational outcomes at scale, including AI-driven PR review assistance, test generation/maintenance, release readiness checks, and incident triage and root-cause acceleration.
  • Define guardrails for validation, security, resiliency, and reuse across teams to support reliable adoption.
  • Apply knowledge of the Software Development Life Cycle toolchain, including enterprise-authorized AI-assisted development and automation capabilities, to increase value realized by automation at scale.
  • Advise cross-functional teams on technology matters within your domain and serve as a function go-to subject matter expert.
  • Contribute to technical methods in specialized fields aligned with the latest product development methodologies.
  • Create durable, reusable software frameworks leveraged across teams and functions.
  • Influence leaders and senior stakeholders across business, product, and technology teams.
  • Help define enterprise-scale target state AI-enabled architecture for solutions across the Consumer & Community Banking division.
  • Collaborate with product and engineering teams to define roadmaps and solution architectures toward target state.

Requirements

  • Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and 5+ years applied experience.
  • Hands-on practical experience delivering system design, application development, testing, and operational stability.
  • Expertise in one or more programming language(s).
  • Demonstrated experience designing and leading adoption of agentic AI-enabled development practices (using enterprise-authorized tools within the work environment), including human-in-the-loop validation standards, auditability/traceability of changes, and secure handling of sensitive data.
  • Strong understanding of responsible AI use and control expectations in engineering workflows, including security and resiliency implications, data sensitivity, and risk-based governance, with the ability to influence senior technical leaders on safe scaling patterns and reuse.
  • Experience applying expertise and new methods to solve complex technology problems across one or more technical disciplines.
  • Understanding of the business.
  • Practical cloud native experience.

Preferred Qualifications, Capabilities, and Skills

  • Experience in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Mathematics, or a related technical field.
  • Advanced knowledge of software architecture, applications, and technical processes, with considerable in-depth knowledge in one or more technical disciplines (for example, cloud, artificial intelligence, machine learning, mobile, etc.).

Compensation: USD 152,000 - 225,000 per year.
