Job Description
The Senior Java Developer role at General Dynamics Information Technology focuses on designing, building, and maintaining cloud-native Java and Kotlin microservices and backend systems within an Agile environment to support national security missions. This onsite position is based in Annapolis Junction, Maryland, with a salary range of USD 164,382 to 207,000 per year.
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain scalable Java/Kotlin microservices
- Build high-throughput backend systems and APIs
- Deploy and support applications in AWS using Docker and Kubernetes
- Troubleshoot and optimize distributed systems
- Contribute to architecture, CI/CD, and engineering best practices
- Collaborate across Agile teams to deliver mission-focused solutions
Requirements
- Active TS/SCI with Polygraph
- Bachelor’s degree in a technical field
- 5+ years of software development experience
- 4+ years of Java development experience
- Experience with microservices, Spring, Docker, and Kubernetes
- Strong understanding of scalable backend architecture
